This is also a platform for aspiring writers who are interested in writing their travel experiences. Here’s a chance to get published on the fastest growing travel website in Africa.

Why should you write for us?

Well, Travelanders features everything about travel. We would love to hear about your travel experiences, the new destinations you visited and the cultures and traditions you fell in love with. We publish a wide range of travel related articles – on destinations, food, places to stay, adventure, art and cultures, travel reviews and tips from a local’s perspective.

What we’re looking for?

Our readers are travel lovers, always looking forward to visiting new destinations, learning more about cultures and getting travel tips on how to save more when travelling.

With our readers in mind, we are looking for:

  • Relevant, interesting and inspiring stories and articles – Triple threat! It must be fun to read too. Top things to do in a destination, Places to visit, top attractions, How to guides, top tips and guides, airline reviews.
  • Articles MUST be original and must not be published anywhere on the internet. Help us be friends with Google.
  • All articles must be proofread and ‘plagiarism-checked” before submitting.
  • Stories should be between 750 words and 2000 words, and photos must be shared and they must be high resolution images. If you are sharing photos that do not belong to you, they must be photos that are free to share (creative commons). Videos are also allowed. If you have uploaded your video on Vimeo or YouTube, you can send us embed codes for them.
  • We reserve the right to edit the articles before we publish them.
  • Your article should be sent in a Word Document. Our regular writers would be given access to our backend so that they can upload their content themselves.
  • Include a photo of you a short sentence about the author (you), and links to your website and social media pages along with content.

How to get started?

Pitch a story to us. Submit about two topics and include a summary of each topic and what the post will be about. Please ensure you include all relevant information in your pitch.

If we fall in love with your story idea, we will contact you to send us your article. Once you have sent us the final draft, we will publish your post and ensure all our readers see your article on our website.
